The Hon. Denis Lebel has been invited to attend ITS Canada’s 15th Anniversary Conference in Quebec City. Also invited is The Hon. C.P. Joshi, Indian Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways.
As you know, the registration space is limited for Quebec City, and you should register NOW to ensure that you will have the opportunity to be at this conference and meet with the 250 delegates and some 30 exhibitors. Hurry before all the seats are gone!
ITS Canada’s 15th Anniversary Annual Conference and General Meeting planning is now in the final stages. The conference, which will be will be held June 10-13, 2012 at the historic Fairmont Chateau Frontenac in Québec City, will be the host of many ‘hot’ topics in the industry:
- Revenue Systems
- Commercial Vehicle Operations
- Data Management
- Traffic Management
- Transit
- The Connected Vehicle
- Safety
The topics clearly show “Transportation in Transition Toward a new Digital Economy”, the theme of this year’s 15th Anniversary.
We will host speakers from all over the world, including Shelley Row, Director of the Joint Program Office of US DOT, Mr. Ingolf Schädler of the Austrian Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, and others. Our keynote speaker for lunch on June 12 will be Mr. Jean Laporte of “VisonsActions”, speaking to the audience about “The Only Stability is Change” (L'unique stabilité est le changement) – highly appropriate in ITS. Jean was Vice President of Apple Canada and then spent a decade with Rogers, culminating in his appointment as President of Rogers Communications (East).
Join us in Québec City for one of North America’s finest technical conferences and exhibitions in the field of intelligent transportation. Click here for details, but hurry, as the capacity at the Fairmont Frontenac is limited, and once the conference is sold out, it is!
I
ITS Canada is beginning preparations for the national stand at the 19th World Congress, and we have a number of members that have already confirmed participation. We have room for a total of eight organizations, and if you have not yet indicated your interest, please do so by contacting askus@itscanada.ca . We have prime exhibit space at the conference, seen here and we are working very closely with the Canadian Embassy in Austria to put together an exciting and productive program which will include a targeted workshop, one-on-one meetings with specific delegates, and an ‘invitation only’ reception at the Embassy. As we did in Busan, Korea in 2010, we will share space with ITS America, permitting a separate area and unique look, but combining forces and saving money for our participants.
