ITS Canada Young Innovators and Leaders in Transportation Award NEW
This NEW award provides up to $5,000 to a young professional who demonstrates leadership and innovation in the field of transportation. The funds can be used to participate, in person, in the ITS Canada Annual Conference & Expo and or attend a related event that supports the objectives and vision of ITS Canada; click here to learn more about ITSC Vision and Mission. In addition, the award includes one year of personal coaching. The award is made possible through the support of Scott Stewart & Associates.
Terms and Conditions: Applicants must:
Be not more than 35 years old on December 31 in the year of the award.
Be employed by an ITSC member organization (not a full-time student), have at least three years of work experience developing or applying technology in Canada’s transportation sector, and hold a university degree in a related field.
Submit a CV (2-3 pages) and describe (up to 1,000 words) their work accomplishments, their vision for the beneficial use of technology in transportation, and their reasons for wanting to attend a technology conference and or an ITSC Tech Hub event.
Applications are reviewed by a selection committee, which may not approve any recipient in a given year. Previous recipients may re-apply.
The recipient will:
Attend the ITSC Tech Hub meeting(s) as well as the ITSC’s Annual Conference & Expo, in the year of the award. The award will be formally presented at the annual conference
Receive personal coaching for one year with Scott Stewart of Scott Stewart & Associates, former CEO of IBI Group, Arcadis IBI Group, former Chair of ITS Canada, and 2023 TAC Distinguished Service Award recipient
Submit a report (500 to 750 words, suitable for publication on ITSC’s website, newsletter and social media) by December 31 in the year of the award, with event highlights and comments about how participation benefited their professional development.
Submit a post-conference claim for reimbursement of eligible expenses including conference registration, hotel accommodation, economy air/train/bus fare or car mileage, local transportation, and meals not supplied at events (receipts are required for all expenses).
